These are child-friendly songs that talk about how great the band’s childhood was; reaching for their dreams; and getting that girl.

Again I find it hard to tell if I’m enjoying it, i’m sneering at it a lot but also smiling so I guess I’m enjoying myself. Busted are a totally schooling in lazy formulaic songwriting in ‘Half Way There’ and sometimes it’s funny and sometimes it’s charming but mostly it’s just annoying. The fact that it’s almost laughably shallow and conforms to the most basic stereotypes of the genre doesn’t help either, but on the whole, this all paints Busted as a band that are probably best off being left in the past. It’s hard to really tell what the song is about, I kinda guess that it’s about how we need to all get together to move to mars and learn how to ‘get along’ with each other. It happens completes the album with reflective lyrics about the band's breakup and how it effected them. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. It’s hardly even done subtly either; when the very first song is Nineties, in which Busted believe that listing off various ‘90s bands and pop culture references is a suitable substitute for real songwriting, it shows either the band’s lack of faith in their own writing abilities to construct anything that’s even marginally their own, or a level of laziness that’s set in when they know that such an effort-stripped approach will work.

That’s about it for me though so it’s interesting entering my first busted album with it being a comeback. Nineties opens the album and it’s essentially a modernised version of the music the band was making the first-time round. By your logic, Asking Alexandria and Falling In Reverse are better than Touche Amore and Departures simply because more people know who they are. Reunion’ sounds like it’s probably the single, as it also doubles as a way of letting people know the band are back together despite the songs actually being aboitba sixth form reunion. Now a year longer than their original run into their career since their 2015 reunion with the ‘Pigs Can Fly’ tour, ‘Half Way There’ is their fourth studio album (so titled as it’s exactly half way to the ‘seventh album’ referred to in their hit single ‘Year 3000’), and one to be especially proud of.The started the campaign for the new album by playing three chaotic sold-out shows in a day at the 100 Club, and then dropped a throwback video for ‘Nineties’which revived the days of Top of the Pops, Blind Date, Nirvana and white-suited boy bands. It's a proper pop-punk record, so I always feel like this album is the band that Busted could have been.
