Neither Killian nor Sally find they’re content and they are only too willing to trace their misery back to the effect that Carol had on their childhood routines. I listened to this on audiobook and, as always, the author’s narration is brilliant, a perfect showcase of his comic and artistic abilities. Carol’s mother is determined to get to the

Graham was soon approached by the BBC to front his own self-titled chat show The Graham Norton Show in 2007.Forever Home is filled with quirky characters, witty dialogue, heartbreaking realities of life and a powerful storyline of what one will do to protect their family, even when the family does not know they need protection. They had many happy years together until a decline in Declan’s health resulted in new living arrangements for both of them. Carol usurped the space previously occupied by their mother, and she and their father transformed the house, reconfiguring the rooms to suit themselves. Obviously things don’t go smoothly, and the house has a secret that none of the Crotties could ever have imagined.

I have said it before, with every review I’ve written on one of his novels, but Graham Norton really is in a class of his own. We are still in Ireland for this plot but there is a huge appeal to these sensitively drawn characters. I did just about manage to get a decent Christmas dinner on the table, and we also managed a short trip to Dublin for new year to visit family, but apart from that it has all been very low-key.
